Collection: Rosemary Lewis
Growing up, Rosemary had a passion for dance, and decided to attend the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, graduating from the Professional Dancer's course in 1998. But painting was another passion and the career she finally embarked upon.
She took a foundation course in art at St Martins College of Art and Design in 2001, after which she directed her own studies into the techniques of the late 19th and early 20th century realist and impressionist oil painters. It wasn't long before Rosemary's work was noticed and she won these awards:
Artists & Illustrators Still Life Artist of the Year 2011
Runner up, Huxley Purchase Prize 2010
Rosemary is an exceptionally gifted artist, and it is her extraordinarily realistic paintings of still-life and flowers that she is particularly renowned for - very few can portray the delicate folds and fragility of flower petals, and nobody can do it better than Rosemary, andis why we had to have her beautiful work in the gallery.
