Collection: Kayla Martell ARSMA

Kayla Martell is the latest and youngest recruit to the PBFA stable of artists. The moment I saw her work for the first time, I knew she was an exceptional artist - the way she puts down paint is very special. She has just been elected an associate member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists.

Kayla is originally from Canada, but moved to Wicklow in Ireland in 2013 which she has adopted as her home.

She has already clocked up several awards for her work, including:

Winner of the Royal Society of Marine Artists “New Generation” award for artists aged under 35, in 2023 at their annual exhibition.

The ROI Themed Painting Prize at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters annual exhibition 2022 for her painting, “Roe”

SWA The Artist Editor’s Choice award at the Society of Women Artists annual exhibition in 2022 for her body of work exhibited

Pegasus Art -Best Work in Oils for the South West Academy of Fine Arts annual exhibition.

Kayla paints interiors with a glorious 'looseness' and possesses an enviable ability to draw the viewer into her paintings - these aren't just nicely painted, they arrest your eye and make you keep looking - just beautiful! 

Her work is still very reasonably priced, but I have no doubt they will rise over the next few years as collectors recognise just how good this young artist truly is. I am absolutely thrilled to represent Kayla in Rutland.
