Graham, our youngest exhibitor, was born in North East Essex in 1980 and has developed a passion for oil painting and his approach to his craft is very studious.
Most of Graham's work is completed from life, and his work bears more than a passing resemblance to that other celebrated East Anglian artist, Edward Seago. Like Seago, Graham’s brushstrokes are carefully considered and placed with a minimum of fuss or blending, creating masterful works of painterly quality.
Graham exhibits at the annual exhibitions of the ROI, the RSMA and RSBA at the Mall Galleries, London, and in 2012 his work was selected as part of the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize Exhibition, touring the Mall Galleries and WH Patterson, London. In the same year he won the Menena Joy Schwabe Memorial Award for an outstanding oil painter at the ROI, and also the Daler-Rowney Prize, the Committee's Choice for a group of paintings shown at the Institute of East Anglian Artists annual exhibition.
Graham has just been made a full member of the ROI, an Associate member of the IEA and a member of the East Anglian Group of Marine Artists, all well-earned and prestigious ‘stripes’ for his exceptional work. We are delighted to represent Graham, and expect him to rise to the pinnacle of his chosen vocation. He is not noisy in terms of social media presence, but his quiet demeanour and sheer, undeniable talent will forge an extremely successful career for this young man.
